In the opening concert, psychologist and concert pianist, lecturer, and PhD Francisca Skoogh from Lund University explores what happens within us when stage nerves appear. She discusses strategies for handling these emotions and poses the question: do we really perform the way we think we do? And are artists truly able to judge their own performances?
Programme:
Maurice Ravel – Klavertrio
Igor Stravinsky – Suite Italienne
Maurice Ravel – Valses nobles et sentimentales (1. sats)
W. A. Mozart - fra klarinetkoncert A-dur
Claude Debussy - Première rhapsodie -
On October 5, 1925, Carl Th. Dreyer’s breakthrough – the silent film Master of the House (Du skal ære din hustru) – premiered at Palads Cinema in Copenhagen.
Exactly 100 years later, we return to the very same venue to celebrate the anniversary together with Nordisk Film and Det Danske Filminstitut – something we’ve been incredibly excited to share!
We will accompany the film live with a brand-new soundtrack, created from classical works composed within the past 100 years. The music closely follows the film’s characters, allowing their stories to unfold in the interplay between image and sound – just as at the original premiere, but reimagined in a contemporary light.

To shed light on the theme of religion, guest speaker Michael Hemmingsen, parish priest at Esajas Church, offers his perspective on life. How have religion and music interacted through time – and do they still? How can music and words provide guidance? And does nature play as central a role in religion as it does in music?

This concert highlights storytelling and performance. How do we convey our musical narratives? How do actors learn their roles, and can this be compared to rehearsing a score? And how might one experiment with the transition from a spoken text to music composed from that very text?

Tekla Greibel-Wandall: Lyric piano pieces
Thomas Adès: Catch – quartet (1991) -
How should the arts engage with artificial intelligence? Do we embrace it and make use of it, or leave it to others while pretending that everything remains as it has been for so many years? How can art find its place – and is it still needed – in this new digital world?

György Kurtág: Trio, Hommage à R. Schumann for piano and viola, Op. 15
